The Treasures project may be finished but that doesn’t mean that the digital projects work has stopped. Here are three Civil War letters that I added online last week; all three letters are from the Military Collection, Civil War Collection (the link goes to the finding aid for that collection):
- Duncan R. Barnhill to Susan Barnhill, Feb. 15, 1864, from Fort Anderson about a guard duty assignment and of the quality of the food he has been getting.
- Duncan R. Barnhill to Susan Barnhill and A. J. Barnhill, April 26, 1864, from Fort Fisher saying that he has been wounded in the hand and has been unable to get a furlough.
- Job R. Redmond to wife Malinda saying in 7 days he’ll be shot for desertion, Nov. 2, 1864.
