This website was created to host information relating to the American Civil War Sesquicentennial commemoration at the North Carolina State Archives. Right now we’re calling it “North Carolina Civil War 150” although that may change as we move into the space – we do have a little over four years to make ourselves at home here. However, the URL for the website (https://civilwar150nc.wordpress.com/) will remain the same.

To learn more about the Archives and Records Section Civil War 150 committee or the larger Dept. of Cultural Resources Civil War 150 committee, visit our About page.

To learn more about having a member of our staff come to speak at your group or event, visit the Speakers Bureau page. There you can also find a list of subjects and staff members available to speak.

Coming soon: we will be creating a virtual exhibit called “Find Your Civil War Ancestors” – the beginnings of that exhibit will likely be posted in late September or early October 2010.

Looks good. I like the Ancestors section.

Thanks Mark! Hopefully we’ll be able to expand the Ancestors section with even more material. Plus, I know that some other areas of DCR are interested in doing something similar with their staff next year, so watch for that.
